In the greater interest of providing services to the city dwellers, on 23 November 2011, the government declared the Dhaka City Corporation dissolved as per the Local Government Amendment Bill-2011. According to this law, it was announced to divide Dhaka City Corporation into two administrative regions on December 4, 2011. As a result, the journey of Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation started on February 1, 2012. Dhaka South City Corporation consists of five regions and 57 wards. At present the total number of wards in Dhaka South is 75. The first election was held on 28 April 2015. i) Candidate's age limit should be between 18 to 30 years as of 01 January 2024 AD. However, the maximum age limit is 32 years in the case of freedom fighters/sons and daughters of martyred freedom fighters/physically challenged. Affidavit in case of age will not be admissible in any case.

ii) Candidates working in Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous Organizations must apply with permission from the appropriate authority. All the job candidates have to submit the original copy of the no objection letter issued by the recruiting authority at the time of oral examination.

iii) The existing regulations of the Government in respect of recruitment and any subsequent amendments in the respective rules will be followed.

iv) Candidates will not be given any TA/DA for appearing in written, oral and practical tests.

v) Candidate's name, father/husband's name, mother's name, permanent address, present address, nationality, religion, date of birth, age, gender name, educational qualification, and experience (if any) should be mentioned in the application form.

vi) Original copies of all certificates must be produced at the time of oral examination and one set of attested photocopies of all certificates must be submitted along with a print copy of the online filled application form.

vii) Attested copy of Citizenship Certificate and National Identity Card (Voter ID Card) or Birth Certificate issued by the concerned Union Parishad Chairman/Municipal Mayor/City Corporation Ward Commissioner/Councillor (with respect to own district) with permanent address mentioned in the job application form must be submitted.
