Interested candidates can fill up the application form from the National University Admissions website. Preliminary online application for the 1st year 2023-2024 academic year undergraduate (honours) class admission program of the colleges teaching in the undergraduate (honours) class affiliated to the National University will start at 4 pm on 22 January 2024 and will continue until 12 pm on 11 February 2024. Through this post, detailed information about NU 1st year admission notification, online form filling process, eligibility for application, application time schedule, number distribution and results etc. will be discussed.
Notice regarding cancellation of dual admission in National University
Placed in the merit list in the admission process of 1st year undergraduate (honors) class in the academic year 2023-2024, any student in the academic year 2012-2023 Graduation (Honors), Graduation (Honors) Professional and Graduation (Pass) Regular / Private Courses After admission, if the registration card is issued, he must cancel the admission of the previous academic year and be admitted in this educational program. National University
The National University was established because of the increasing pressure on the internal curriculum of Dhaka, Chittagong, and Rajshahi universities. Bangladesh National University is an affiliate university of Bangladesh established in 1992. The university has been established on 11.39 acres of land in Board Bazar in Gazipur district. There are 2,249 government and private colleges under the National University across the country. Of which, graduation (honors) is taught in 657 colleges with a total number of seats of more than 420,000. More than 28 lakh students’ study in affiliated colleges. It is the fourth-largest university in the world in terms of students. At present, the National University has introduced four (4) year undergraduate (honors) and one (1) year postgraduate courses through the complete (2013-14) new syllabus. There are also three (3) year undergraduate (pass) courses and four (4) year undergraduate (honors) professional courses. This university has a Ph.D. And M.Phil. There are also arrangements.

General eligibility for application
(A) 2022/2023 HSC/equivalent examination (including 4th subject) and 2020/2021 SSC/equivalent examination (including 4th subject) from any Education Board/Open University recognized in Bangladesh with Humanities branch a minimum GPA of 3.0 in both examinations separately students with a minimum GPA of 6.5 can apply.
(B) 2022/2023 HSC/equivalent examination (with 4th subject) and 2020/2021 SSC/equivalent examination (with 4th subject) from any education board/open university recognized in Bangladesh with Faculty of Science and Business Education a minimum GPA of 3.0 in both the examinations separately students with a minimum GPA of 7.0 can apply.
(C) From Bangladesh Technical Education Board only
1. HSC (Vocational)
2. HSC (Business Management)
3. Diploma-in-Commerce
Students who have passed the examination will be able to apply subject to fulfillment of (b) No.
(D) Eligible subjects will be determined from the subjects studied in the Higher Secondary and equivalent examinations of the candidates. Must have a minimum grade point of 3.0 in the subject (number 200).
(E) Passed at least 04 (four) subjects including “B” grade in three subjects in the O-Level examination of 2020/2021 and students who have passed at least 02 (two) subjects including a “B” grade in one subject in the A / Level examination of 2022/2023 will be able to apply in this admission program subject to fulfillment of other conditions. All these applicants have to apply directly to the Dean, School of Undergraduate Education, National University within the stipulated time.
(F) In the case of candidates with foreign certificates, if the equivalent of their acquired secondary and higher secondary level marks is determined by any Board of Education recognized in Bangladesh, they may also apply in this admission process subject to fulfillment of other conditions. All these candidates have to apply along with the Dean, School of Undergraduate Education, National University within the stipulated time.
(G) Any student admitted in Bachelor (Honours), Bachelor (Honours) Professional, Bachelor (Pass) regular/private courses in the academic year 2022-2023 under the National University cannot be admitted in 1st-year undergraduate (honours) class in 2023-2024 academic year. However, all these students will be able to be admitted in the 1st graduation (honors) class in the 2023-2024 academic year by canceling the admission in the 2022-2023 academic year.
(H) In the same academic year or in two different academic years, if a student gets double admission in graduate (honors), graduate (honors) professional, and graduate (pass) regular/private courses, both his admissions will be considered void.
The way that the applicant will fill the initial application form
(A) The applicant has to go to the National University Admission Website (www.nu.ac.bd/admissions) Honors Tab and click on Apply Now (Honours) option and in the information, table displayed on the website, the roll number of secondary and higher secondary/equivalent examination, registration number, board of education/university, year of the pass, and a registered mobile number (own or parent's) must be entered correctly.
(B) According to the information stored in the database, if the applicant's information appears in place of Male instead of Female or Male instead of Female, then go to the Click to Change option and give the correct Gender entry.
(C) At this stage the applicant will have to see the list of eligible subjects for his admission. If the applicant selects the name of any college in the department and district according to his choice, he will see the names of the subjects eligible for admission in the 1st year undergraduate class and the number of seats in that college. From this list, the candidate has to carefully determine the order of preference of his / her desired subject.
(D) Candidates wishing to be admitted in the child / tribal / disabled / pet quota of the freedom fighter have to select the quota applicable for him at the specified place in the information table. Application for quota must have an original certificate issued by the appropriate authority. If a candidate qualifies for one or more quotas, the order of quota preference has to be determined. The seats reserved for the quota will be treated as additional to the thematically allotted seats.
(E) While filling the form, the applicant has to scan and upload the recent passport size color photograph. Image size will be 120 * 150 Pixels, Image Type: jpg and maximum file size 50Kb. If any picture other than the picture of the candidate is uploaded in the initial application form, the admission of that candidate will be considered void.
(F) Fill in the table with correct information and pictures and click on Submit Application option. At this stage, the roll number and pin code of the applicant will be displayed and by downloading the application form [A4 (8.5” * 11”) on offset white paper] print/pdf copy will have to be collected.
(G) The applicant has to save a print / PDF copy of the initial application form and deposit tk 350 (Three hundred and fifty) for the initial application fee through mobile backing prescribed by the concerned college. That all the initial application forms will be confirmed online by the concerned college, all those candidates will be able to know it through SMS to their mobile number.
National University Result
First-year admission result is published on the website of the National University through timely notice. If you do not get a place on the merit list, you must apply for admission on the release slip.
Correction of errors in the application form filled out at the National University
The candidate has to verify all the information in his initial application form properly. If there is any discrepancy or defective picture in the application form, it should be corrected. The error in the completed application form cannot be corrected after the initial application form has been confirmed by the college. The concerned college has to confirm the application form by matching the pictures and information of the initial application form, otherwise the admission of the admitted candidate with defective photo will be considered as canceled later.
II) At this stage, The applicant will go to the Form Cancel/Photo Change Option and click on the Click to Generate the Security Key option, then he will get One Time Password (OTP) via SMS to the personal number mentioned in the application form.
III) With this OTP entry, he will be able to cancel his application form, fill up a new application form and upload the original photo.
Regarding filling up the application form for admission in the release slip at the National University
All those candidates will not get a place on the merit list, Will cancel the admission or will not be admitted in the allotted subject even after getting place in the merit list, all those candidates are subject to the subject vacant seats five colleges will be able to apply for the release slip by setting the subject preference separately. Candidates whose initial application will not be confirmed by the college will not be able to apply on the release slip.
Rules for Application on Release Slip
1. To apply for the release slip, the applicant has to go to the Admissions website (www.nu.ac.bd/admissions) and go to the Honours Login link in the Applicant Login option and enter the correct roll number and PIN. In this case the application form of the release slip along with the name and other information of the applicant will be displayed on the website.
2. The applicant selects the college of his choice by going to the College Selection Option to apply for the release slip, he will see the list of vacant seats in that college and the list of its Eligible subjects. At this stage, the applicant will re-enter the order by determining the order of preference from his list of eligible subjects. Thus an applicant will fill the application form of the release slip by determining the subject preference order in a total of five colleges according to his choice.
3. After filling the form with correct information and clicking on the Submit Application option, the applicant will be able to see a new application form website with his name, initial application roll number, college name and subject preference order. You have to download the form and collect the print / PDF copy on A4 (8.5 ”* 11”) offset white paper but you do not have to submit it to the colleges mentioned in the application form or pay any fee.
Even after finalizing the release slip application form, if any applicant wants to modify or change the order of preference of college / subject in his application form, he has to go to Honors Release Slip option in Applicant Login option and click to Generate the Security Key. At this time the applicant will get One Time Password (OTP) via SMS to the personal mobile number mentioned in his application form. With this OTP entry, the applicant will be able to cancel his / her application form and re-fill the application form for the release slip. The applicant will get this opportunity only once.
Results of National University Release Slip
The results of the release slip will be released in due course. Students placed on the merit list of the release slip will have no chance to change the subject.
